Texaco is planning to open 20 liquid petroleum gas service stations for cars by the end of the year, having just opened the first in Birmingham.

Texaco is planning to build multi-storey apartment and office blocks above three petrol stations in London, and is said to be considering the possibility of similar developments on up to 150 sites.

Texaco is to provide fuel for a new chain of motorway service stations being set up by Swayfields under the Extra brand, and the first three sites are at Peterborough, Cambridge and Baldock.
