SSL International, the manufacturer of health care products with sites in London, Manchester, Middleton, Peterlee and Redruth, is to be acquired by Reckitt Benckiser for £2.5bn.

SSL International is to acquire Orthaheel, the supplier of corrective insoles, for an initial £15m.
