Severfield-Rowen has secured outline planning permission to expand its structural steel fabrication facilities at the Dalton Industrial Estate near Thirsk, which could create up to 120 new jobs.

Severfield-Rowen is to acquire Action Merchants, the holding company of Enniskillen-based structural steel fabricator Fisher Engineering, for £90m.

Severfield-Rowen is planning to acquire Atlas Ward, the North Yorkshire-based structural steelwork company, for £1.2m, and is expected to invest a further £3m in the business.

Severfield-Rowen has acquired Tubemasters, the York-based structural fabricator, for £0.3m.

Severfield-Rowen has acquired Watson Steel, the Bolton-based supplier of structural steelwork with 300 staff, from Amec Capital Projects for £2.5m.
