Kymata, the Livingston-based optical components company, has been acquired by Alcatel Optronics of France for £82m.

Kymata has raised a further £46m to fund the global expansion of its Livingston-based opto-electronics business.

Kymata is raising £46m from venture capital funds, in order to fund the expansion of its opto-electronics manufacturing facilities in Livingston.

Kymata has announced plans to create a further 150 jobs at its new microchip plant in Livingston.

Kymata is planning to set up a factory in Livingston to make telecoms components, and expects to create up to 200 jobs over the next five years.
