Enic, the sports and media group with investments in Tottenham Hotspur and Rangers, is to be taken private in a £40m deal agreed with Kondar and its independent directors.

Enic is to sell its bookmaking business to a new company called UKbetting for £3m.

Enic is planning to acquire Sporting Index, the spread betting company, for £50m, and is also negotiating the purchase of a 27% stake in Tottenham Hotspur.

Enic is planning to float Paradigm Media on Aim in order to raise £20m and finance the expansion of its sports and media investment business.

Enic is to acquire Gibraltar-based Victor Chandler International for up to £70m, in order to benefit from the rapid growth in the offshore betting market.
