DuPont is creating 40 new jobs at its Kevlar manufacturing plant at Maydown in Londonderry, having secured £2.5m of financial assistance from Invest NI.

DuPont UK is to relocate its agricultural division and up to 100 jobs from Stevenage to Milton Keynes by the middle of next year, and its Hemel Hempstead branch will also move there.

DuPont, the US chemicals company, is considering plans to invest in a number of unnamed high-technology companies in the UK, and is thought to be interested in spin-offs from Oxford and Cambridge universities.

DuPont is planning to invest £5.5m at its plastics factory in Cargenbridge, Dumfries, in order to increase flexibility in the polyester production section.
