Compact Power has secured a £5m government grant to build a £20m energy-from-waste plant in Bristol by 2008.

Compact Power has sold the lease and planning permission for a waste to energy plant at Dargavel in Dumfries to Scotgen for £0.8m.

Compact Power is to sell its waste processing plant at Avonmouth to a newly formed company called Batneec Waste Services Bristol for £5m.

Compact Power is to invest £1m in the installation of a steam sterilisation unit at its Avonmouth plant, which will double the amount of waste that can be processed in a year.
