Boeing is to announce plans to set up an Integrated Vehicle Health Management facility in the UK later this year, in order to remotely monitor the maintenance requirement of vehicles, and is considering potential sites in the North East and two other regions.

Boeing has indicated that it could expand its UK workforce from 600 to 2,000, in order to strengthen its involvement with Ministry of Defence programmes.

Boeing, the aircraft manufacturer, is planning to set up a 12,500 sq ft office at Heathrow House, Heathrow.

Boeing is setting up a new office at 16 St James in London for between 10 and 20 UK directors, and will relocate from Jermyn Street in December.

Boeing is to invest £15m in a new aerospace research centre in Rotherham in partnership with the University of Sheffield, with the creation of up to 80 jobs.

Boeing has selected Luton airport as the site for a new £44m European headquarters and pilot-training centre, with the creation of 35 jobs.
