Bethell is to create a further 170 jobs at its Bolton-based construction business, having won another £30m contract to replace overhead power lines and sub-stations for United Utilities.

Bethell has won a £15m electrical cable installation contract from United Utilities, which will create 100 new jobs in the north-west.

Bethell is creating 30 jobs in a new security division, while 100 jobs are being created to work on a £25m waste water maintenance contract in Greater Manchester for United Utilities.

Bethell, the Manchester-based contractor, is planning to add a further 250 staff to its 700-strong workforce.
