Benjys, the chain of 70 sandwich outlets, has been bought out of administration by private equity firm Hamilton Bradshaw for undisclosed terms.

Benjys is looking to open nine sandwich stores in the north-east, with the creation of 100 jobs.

Benjys is planning to open 150 new sandwich bars by 2006, with the creation of 2,000 jobs.

Benjys is planning to create 1,000 new jobs by expanding its sandwich store and mobile delivery network over the next two years.

Benjys is to invest £4m in the expansion of its chain of sandwich outlets, and aims to open 15 new branches and create 500 jobs by March 2004.
