Archant is to relocate its Ipswich-based media business and 100 staff to a new office at Portman House on Princes Street next summer.

Archant Life has acquired six London-based magazine titles from Metropolis Publishing, including 35 staff at offices in Fulham and Islington.

Archant has acquired a further 15 weekly newspapers in London and Kent from Independent News & Media for up to £10m.

Archant is to invest £12m at its Thorpe newspaper printing plant near Norwich by December 2004, with the creation of 14 jobs.
