Allied Carpets has been sold by administrators Duff & Phelps to Floors-2-Go Group, saving 41 jobs at its nine remaining stores.

Allied Carpets has sold 26 of its 30 stores to the Savana Trading investment consortium.

Allied Carpets has gone into administration through BDO Stoy Hayward, but 400 of the 1,500 jobs have been secured with the sale of 51 of the 217 stores and its insurance inspection business to a management team.

Allied Carpets is to open four stores in Northern Ireland later this month, having secured sites in Coleraine, Newtownabbey, Lisburn and Bangor.

Allied Carpets has identified 20 suitable locations to open high street shops, and also plans to open five more out-of-town stores next year.

Allied Carpets is planning to open 30 retail warehouse stores over the next three years, and is seeking suitable sites throughout the country.
