Start-rite is to close its remaining shoemaking operation in Norwich in September with the loss of 28 jobs, while 150 sales and design staff will relocate to a new site at the Broadland Business Park in November. 03-Jul-2003 Start-rite, the shoemaker, is looking to set up a new £3m headquarters and distribution centre in Norwich, and is considering sites at the Broadland Business Park and Longwater retail park. 13-Nov-2002 Start-rite is to shed a further 45 jobs at its shoe factory in Norwich, in order to transfer more production to Portugal and India. 12-Apr-2002 Start-rite is to shed 100 jobs at its shoe factory in Norwich in order to move part of the manufacturing process to India. 02-Mar-2001
