Gallaher Gallaher, the tobacco company, is considering plans to relocate its Surrey headquarters, and is seeking a suitable site of up to 70,000 sq ft near Weybridge. 24-Dec-2007 Gallaher is to close its cigar factory in Cardiff in 2009 with the loss of 184 jobs, but 95 jobs will be created at its site in Ballymena, Co Antrim. 28-Sep-2007 Gallaher, the cigarette manufacturer, is expected to relocate its international headquarters from Weybridge, where it employs 330 staff, to Switzerland following its £7.5bn takeover by Japan Tobacco. 09-Jan-2007 Gallaher, the cigarette manufacturer, is to be acquired by Japan Tobacco for £7.5bn. 18-Dec-2006 Gallaher is to shed 250 jobs at its cigarette factories in Austria, Northern Ireland and Cardiff. 19-Jan-2005 Gallaher is to shed 175 jobs at its tobacco factory near Ballymena and 49 jobs at its cigar factory in Cardiff, while its Dublin plant will be closed. 21-May-2003 Gallaher is planning to acquire Austria Tabak, the Austrian tobacco company, for up to £1.1bn. 25-Jun-2001 Gallaher is to invest £40m at its recently-acquired Liggett-Ducat business in Russia, in order to increase production to 65bn cigarettes a year. 07-Sep-2000 The information above comes from the UK Activity Report Copyright UK Business Park 1995-2008
