Ardagh is to acquire the Italian glass packaging operations of Consumers Packaging of Canada for £1.8m, and has also announced the closure of its Ringsend, Dublin, glass container plant. 01-Mar-2002 Ardagh is to invest £14.5m at its recently-acquired Rockware Glass factory in Knottingley, raising hopes that the 250-strong workforce will be expanded. 06-Apr-1999 Ardagh of Ireland is to acquire Rockware from Owens-Illinois of the US for £240m, and estimates that it will then have 31% of the UK glass containers market and 79% of the Irish market. 16-Mar-1999
